STATEMENT OF PHILOSOPHY
The Child Development Center is an organization of instruction that recognizes two important aspects of growth
and development of children:
1. Growth is a continuous process.
2. The individual rate of growth differs.
In recognition of these facts, the Staff seeks to individualize instruction so that the child's intellectual, physical,
social, and emotional growth proceeds at his own rate as he reaches his own maximum potential.
Purpose
To provide quality child development/day care services for the young children of working parents and for all
others who require and/or desire these services. To provide a supplement to the home in guiding the child's optimum development.
To have each child enjoy experiences in such a way as to develop at a maximum rate ... socially, emotionally,
physically and intellectually.
-
To help the children learn to work and play independently, to be at ease about being
away from home and to be able to accept help and directions from adults.
-
To learn to play and work effectively with other children; to value one's own rights
and the rights of others.
-
To develop self-identity and a view of themselves as having competence and worth.
-
To sharpen and broaden hearing and language skills, both listening and speaking.
-
To develop and strengthen physical skills, using large and small muscles.
-
To grow in ability to express inner creative impulses through movement, singing,
painting, handicrafts, dramatics, etc.
-
To develop wholesome attitudes toward their own bodies and bodily functions: to
accept the physical differences between boys and girls in a healthy and honest manner.
-
To motivate a desire for learning by the experiences provided in the Program.
-
To bring the Center and the home together.
-
To help each child grow and develop into a happy, independent individual.
